“Great stay”

August 2016

Another great stay at the Jorvik hotel, with everything catered for an enjoyable and relaxing break.

The rooms are spacious and clean with a king size comfortable bed, bottled water and tea/coffee making facilities, reasonable ensuite with spa bath and power shower.

Dining area was spacious and well laid out, full English breakfast was excellent and plentiful with a wide variety continental breakfast, unlimited juices and coffee from the coffee machine , the staff was friendly, attentive fast and efficient.

“A good hotel”

July 2016

Visited this hotel for one night with a friend as we were attending York racecourse. It is a basic hotel situated not far from city centre and everything that goes on in York. Staff were friendly 24hour reception has a small bar, room was a little hot as air conditioning situated in the wrong place, but we had a pleasant stay here. Hotel was a bit pricey at £170 for the both of us for the room, but this was probably because of the racing weekend that was going on in York.

“An unbeatable position”

July 2016

Spent two nights staying here. Excellent position opposite gates to the museum gardens. Fairly quiet. Very friendly staff. A nice room with jet bath, thick towels, TV and tea making facilities. Would definitely stay here again.

Parking does appear to be a problem. This is true of many small hotels in the area. Easy walk from the train station.

Rory I wish to thank you. You went the extra mile. The room was booked for my sons 21st birthday celebrations. Rory very kindly purchased on helium baloon from the card factory and the went to Millers Cookies . This was to give a welcome for my son and his friends, along with a case of beer on ice. My sons friend left something behind – he didnt realise at the time. Laura from Jorvik phoned and offered to post said item to us. Such amazing service liek this makes it more memorable and extra speciali. Fabulous: room, location, warm, firiendly. . Perfect in every way.

“Great Location and Staff”

June 2016

Really well-located hotel and professional staff who are willing to help with any problem or query. We had a problem with the tv remote and this was handled very well so that we didn’t mind too much! It was good to park nearby and be able to walk into York.

Right opposite the Yorkshire museum gardens. Great entry point into and returning from York town. Staff were amazing and so helpful. Cleaners respectful And helpful. Staff very sociable and professional and courteous. The room ate gorgeous. Very quaint and cosy. And almost as of they would do anything to make your experience maximal.

“Great again”

June 2016

Lovely stay here again. We’ve just had a weekend there and enjoyed a freshly cooked breakfast each morning. Great easy access through museum gardens to the centre. Lots of things to do in York; we love it! Staff very helpful and friendly. We met Marley again who was there last year. He’s very helpful and friendly. There’s lots of places to eat in York and if you like an authentic Chinese, try the Sunrise on Gillygate. Fab portions and very reasonably priced. We also had a wonderful Turkish meal at the Kapadokya on Great Hudson Street. Thanks again Jorvik from Lulu and Lynda

“Central Hotel”

June 2016

This is a small friendly hotel my wife and I visited on a short trip to York. It is situated in a quite road opposite one of York’s parks and close to the city centre. All the main attractions are within a reasonable walking distance.

The staff are friendly and helpful and offered us the use of the staff car park as it was empty. A word of warning here if you are new to York, the parking charges are almost on a par with London. If the staff car park is not available there is a public paying car park just a street away from the hotel.

The hotel has a nice small bar at the front with tv, a sitting room and dining room on the ground floor. There are some rather steep steps up to the first floor rooms. We found our room to be compact, clean and tidy and had all the usual amenities. We asked for some mint tea which was provided straight away and was typical of the friendly and efficient service we received throughout our stay. The bed was comfortable and the room quiet.

You can have as much or as little for breakfast as you want. I had the traditional English breakfast and my wife some yogurt and cereal. Both breakfasts were excellent and well executed.

Overall we had a very pleasant stay and would definitely recommend this hotel for its central position, friendly staff and comfort.
